Merops apiaster

Bee-eater - As their name suggests these beautiful birds diet is almost totally bees and wasps. Brilliantly coloured and a pleasure to watch in flight. Most are found in Africa but some venture to southern Europe during the summer. They have on occasion attempted to nest in Britain without success.
