Luscinia svecica

Bluethroat - The size of a robin, the male Bluethroat displays a beautiful iridescent blue and red bib which makes the little bird unmistakable. The female having a rather dull cream and black bib. They feed on insects and berries. Not too common in Britain, and usually confined to east and southern areas of Britain and rarely seen in Ireland outside the south east. I spotted these in scrub-land in the Algarve Portugal at Cabanas De Tavira and Quinta Da Rocha.
