Aythya australis
Hardhead - or white-eyed duck is the only true diving duck found in Australia. They feed by diving deeply up to a minute on small aquatic creatures and vegetation. They prefer deep swamps and lakes to coastal waters. Photographed at Baldwin Swamp Bundaberg Australia.
