Charadrius alexandrinus
Kentish Plover - Feeds on worms insects and crustaceans at the waters edge. This plover no longer breeds in Britain as i ts name suggests. It is now just a summer visitor to Northern Europe where I took these images at Cabanas De Tavira salt pans in the Algarve Southern Portugal. It breeds in the coastal areas of western and southern Europe. Some later photograph here taken in Quinta do Lago Ludo salt pans.
