Motacilla flava

Yellow Wagtail - The Yellow Wagtail will nest in pastures, heaths and commons although there has been serious declines in breeding numbers across the UK. They are attracted to grazing cattle, feeding on the insects they disturb during grazing. They are absent from Ireland and most of Scotland. So it was exciting for me to come across these birds in the Algarve at the Alvor Estuary, Cabanas De Tavira and Ludo salt pans. Also in the S'Albufera region of Majorca.
