This website is primarily for my own bird photography. Most of the images were taken in Ireland where I now live in Ballinaglera. Most of the British images are from the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas. There are also a few other species included from my trips to Portugal, Spain and Australia. The Irish photographs are mostly from around the Counties of Leitrim and Sligo. Others from Counties Mayo, Cavan and Roscommon. Some even on the Dublin to Liverpool ferry crossing! It didn't take me long to discover that this line of photography is so difficult. The subjects are not always obliging, nor do they stay still for too long! Huge telephoto lenses are not the answer either! Getting as close to the subject as I can without detection and without disturbance is the key. I have a lot to learn. One thing I have learnt is that no photograph is more important than the safety and well being of the subject. To this end my subject will always come first. My enjoyment comes more from them than any photograph or video image.

Along the way I come across some interesting Wildlife, Butterflies, Moths, Park and Garden Escapes, Captives and Wildflowers. So I have thrown a few of those in as well!
