Agapornis personatus

Yellow-collared Lovebird - or masked love-bird. Native of East Africa. I spotted this bird in the wild in Quateira in Portugal. Most likely and escaped pet. There are many colour varieties from the wild type. In their native land Masked Lovebirds live primarily in grassland or lowland savannas, but are also found in woodlands with large numbers of baobab trees and acacias and in inland plateaus. They have to drink very frequently.
