Gelochelidon nilotica
Gull-billed Tern - This gull is fairly large with a thick gull-like bill hence the name.
Adult summer plumage shows a strong black cap which aligns through the eye. The heavy bill is a key to its diet which consists of insects, crabs and lizards from the ground, and fish from the water surface. They will steal food from other birds, and even prey on chicks of other species. Photographed in the S'Albufera region of Majorca Spain.
