Milvus migrans

Black Kite - This Black Kite flew over us at Cabranosa near Sagres in Portugal. Slightly smaller than the Red Kite with smaller tail and darker plumage. They also have 6 wing tip feathers as opposed to 5 as the Red Kite has. They are more likely to scavenge for food. A lot of time is spent soaring for food such as rodents, birds, bats and fish.
