Brambling - Winter visitor from November to March. It d oes not breed here in Ireland. Common in Scandinavia where breeding takes place. Bramblings mostly eat seeds, but unlike most finches, their young are fed largely on insects. They mostly feed on the ground. Often seen with flocks of Chaffinch. Photographed in Ballinaglera Co.
