Periparus ater

Coal Tit - Irish variation of Coal Tits have a more yellowish tint than those in England. This is the second smallest British bird at 10cm. The Goldcrest being smaller. Very noticeable by the little white cap on its crown. Breeds mainly in conifer woods, often with some taller spruces, also in pine or mixed forest. These photographed in my garden and at Annagh Lake Ballinaglera Co. Leitrim.
