Numenius arquata

Curlew - Very large wading bird. Can be found all around British and Irish coastlines and also on the moors. The diet includes small invertebrates, small crabs and earthworms. Very similar to the Whimbrel which has the shorter less curved bill. Photographs taken at Lissadell and Mullaghmore Co. Sligo.
