Phoenicopterus roseus
Greater Flamingo - A Flamingos diet includes small crustaceans, molluscs, and insects which they are constantly filtering through their huge bills. They prefer a habitat of salt pans and large bodies of shallow water, inland, coastal, saline and brackish waters. The loud cackling drew us toward these Flamingo at Alvor Estuary and Lagoa dos Salgados in the Algarve Portugal. Also seen at Quinta Do Lago. A wonderful sight.
