Clamator glandarius

Great Spotted Cuckoo - the distinctive patterns and colours of this cuckoo make it unmistakable for identification. It targets crows nests to lay eggs. The female will lay up to five eggs in one nest, unlike like the common cuckoo that will usually only lay one solitary egg. Beautifully coloured in flight. It is very noisy, that is what first bought my attention to this bird in the Castro Verde area of Portugal during February.
