Gadwall - A common widespread duck of open wetlands. Adult females resemble a Mallard but are slightly smaller. Although a scarce breeder they are also present in Britain and Ireland. It is a dabbling duck feeding on water vegetation. This duck is on the Eurasian and African Migratory Waterbirds Conservation list.
