Rissa tridactyla

Kittiwake - Spend most of their time out at sea during the winter. Only coming inshore in stormy weather or to feed from fishing boats. A fast flying gull that banks and swerves over the tops of the waves. Breeds on steep sea-cliffs, stacks and rocky islands, in some areas also on buildings. These photographs were taken on the Irish Sea ferry crossing, also at Aughris Head Co. Sligo and Bempton Cliffs in East Yorkshire.
