Lesser Black-backed Gull - This gull is mainly a summer resident. It is identified by its slate coloured back and wings and yellow legs. Darker than the Herring Gull and lighter than the Great black-backed Gull. This gull is commonly found nesting on rooftops in coastal towns and cities as well as more traditional areas such as rocky islands and grass-covered tops of mainland cliffs.
