Buteo rufinus

Long-legged Buzzard - one of the largest species of the Buteo genus. Not easy to identify the difference between this buzzard and the common buzzard due to highly variable plumage. It often hunts from a prominent perch, or sits on the ground and scans for prey. Found widely in several parts of Eurasia and in North Africa. I saw this buzzard for the first time in the Agia Varvara area of Cyprus during May.
