Puffinus puffinus

Manx Shearwater - A seabird that breeds in very large colonies on the west coasts of Britain. They nest colonially in burrows on grassy slopes of islands, often at some distance from the sea. Visits burrows after dark. They are instantly recognised as being all black on top and all white underneath. These pictures were taken from the Dublin to Liverpool ferry crossing.
