Falco columbarius

Merlin - In Ireland the merlin is a scarce resident, so I was lucky to come across this one as it flew past me at speed on the Sligo coast at Cloonagh. The aerial acrobatic flight is a must see with merlins as they chase prey as large as teals and lapwings. For a small falcon it is impressive!
