Cisticola juncidis

Fan-tailed Warbler - The Fan-tailed Warbler or Zitting Cisticola is often first noticed in flight as it circles overhead with a dipping motion and calling regular "zitting" calls at the peak of each dip! I found this bird very difficult to photograph! They do not stay in the same place for long and frequent dense vegetation, grasslands, grassy coastal plains and salt marshes. It certainly gave me the run-a-round! This species is a rare vagrant to northern Europe.These photographs were taken in the Algarve at Praia Da Rocha and Lagoa dos Salgados Portugal.
