Anthus petrosus

Rock Pipit - Very similar to the Meadow Pipit. This bird though is exclusive to coastal areas where it is found bobbing around the rocks in search of food. The Rock Pipit has darker legs than the Meadow Pipit. It is said that if a Pipit is spotted around coastal rocks it is almost certainly a Rock Pipit. The diet includes insects, beetles, small fish, small shellfish and seeds. Raghly Harbour Co. Sligo.
