Ciconia ciconia

White Stork - The White Stork is a carnivore that preys on a vast variety of animal prey from the ground such as amphibians, small mammals reptiles and even small birds. A huge soaring bird with a wingspan of up to 215 cm. Fabulous to watch in flight as it soars effortlessly often reaching great heights. It rarely visits the British Isles. Often seen nesting on high buildings or trees. They form a huge nest of large sticks as seen here in the Algarve Portugal.
